FAQ's
Will you work from my office or remotely?
Approximately 90% of our engagements are handled remotely. Most engagements last 60-90 days and therefore are most efficiently done offsite. We occasionally work onsite at the advisor's office and have associates in 3 regions to conveniently serve that need.
What client data can I take from my old firm?
Regarding client data, we strongly suggest that you retain legal counsel for guidance in adhering to the broker protocol and any contractual agreement with your current broker-dealer or OSJ.
What are the options for sending paperwork to my clients?
Clients can receive paperwork one of three ways: 1) Traditional delivery such as USPS or Third-Party Carriers, 2) Hand Delivered during in-person meetings with advisors. 3) Electronically, sent by an electronic signature provider or secure email. We will discuss these options in the initial planning phase and determine the proper course of action for each client.
Do I need to submit client statements to process ACAT's?
Most firms require a copy of the client statements from the delivering firm in order to process an ACAT transfer. If you cannot take client statements from your old firm, then the client will need to provide a copy of statement, usually no more than 60-90 days old.
Can ETC assist with directly held mutual funds, annuities, and alternative investments?
Yes. In addition to the accounts held at your broker-dealer, we will assist in the processing of paperwork for direct business held at the sponsor.
In what format should I have data that I can bring from my current firm?
Most programs require an Excel (.XLS or .XLSX) or Comma Delimited (.CSV) file to upload data. We will assist with scrubbing this document for accuracy to ensure data is properly migrated to your new system.
How do you charge for services?
For repapering services, we charge by the hour. We will perform an initial consultation for all engagements to identify the best pricing structure and estimated project cost based on the services to be provided. Since our services vary greatly from one engagement to the next, we do not have a set hourly rate.
What are the biggest pitfalls in a transition?
The biggest pitfall that we have seen over the years is a lack of preparation which leads to a rocky transition. There are many steps in the transition process, some of which can be easily overlooked. Our initial consultation and pre-planning activities help prepare you for everything that you will encounter during the transition.

I was fortunate to meet and work with Elite Transition Consultants. ETC was instrumental in a successful transition to my new broker dealer. They helped me in the initial planning stages, prepared, packaged and processed all client paperwork.
Not only are they very knowledgeable but also have the gift of interacting in a way where they can take the lead and teach the systems at my new firm. That ability is invaluable. I can't say enough about the service we received from Elite Transition Consultants. It was a pleasure to work with such a hard-working, dedicated team
